A Connection

I listen to classical music when I paint. In my effort to paint the peace and tranquility I feel when I am on the coast, I find this genre of music aids me in quieting my mind, so as to better communicate through my work these feelings. I most often listen to Bach, Pachabel, Handel and Chopin. All of whom composed very soothing music….. I was talking to my son about this the other day. He is an accomplished classical pianist. I shared with him a conversation I had with two artists in Baton Rouge.  They asked me what kind of music I listen to when I paint. Their response to my reply was, “Of course”.  To them it was so obvious. At this William said, “But we’re the opposite, I see what I hear. You hear what you see.” So true.
